    Hey there!           If you're perusing this far I know you are the kind of person who longs to be surrounded by beauty. The problem is, there are so many choices in home design out there that it can leave you feeling overwhelmed and over stimulated to the point of giving up on designing your dream home.

            My name is Olivia Ostler and I'm an interior designer and founder of Ostler House Design located in Salt Lake City, Utah. I believe that the design process should be fun and fulfilling— a way to get to know yourself and your family's personality rather than leaving you burnt out and exhausted. I understand how draining it can be, there are so many choices to make when it comes to designing a space! That’s why I break it down into manageable steps, help you zero in on your and your family's style and present a cohesive design revealing how your home would function best for you and your loved ones.

                                          Here’s how it works: first, book an interior design consultation at a time that works best for you— we'll chat about style, function, and what  life could look like if you loved where you lived. Second, I'll put together a killer design presentation that includes sketches drawn to scale, flooring and fabric samples, mood boards, and floor plans all based on our initial consultation. Third, and finally, after the design is implemented (by a licensed contractor, trades people, and myself)  and everything is exactly where it's meant to be, you'll love where you live!

How many hours does a project typically take?

Estimating Hours

This is hard to answer because every project is so different! At our initial consultation we will sit down and get a scope of what you are wanting to achieve. This will give me a better idea of the time it will take. I'll give you a bid for how long it will take to create a design plan (including floor plans, layout, sketches,  mood boards etc) and we will agree to move forward from there. My goal is for this process to be as transparent and stress free as possible. 

How do you work with couples who have different styles?

Blending Styles

Great question! Even if you think you and your partner have similar styles there are bound to be differences that come up. These differences are exciting and what make a home feel unique. I'm here to listen and then help you both make sense of what is estetically important to you both. An outside eye will help take something contentious and transform it into a look you'll both love. Together we can blend your styles so everyone loves where they live. 

Will we drive to different stores to pick out furniture in person?

Do you pick out furniture in person?

Though I may go to some in person stores, the options are much greater online. I can search "trade-only furniture" and pass my discounts on to you. We'll have a special appointment where I present all the furniture options and how each peice will compliment one an other.
